Farm-to-Fork has definitely become a force to be reckoned with, especially in America’s Farm-to-Fork capital, Sacramento. This past Saturday, at the 5th annual Farm-to-Fork Festival, nearly 65,000 people came out in support of local eateries, wineries, breweries, grocers, cooperatives, farmers, and ranchers. Designed to showcase and celebrate the origin of food and drinks, this free event connected attendees face-to-face with the people feeding our region and the world.
We stopped by to say hello and support some of our friends at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op pop up shop (try saying that five times fast!). Folks carried their recycle bags and lined up outside, excited to do a little shopping of their own. The pop up shop provided organic produce and other products, event-exclusive merchandise, hats, bags, and more. Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op is committed to supporting organic local family farms and small producers of high quality food, like Pachamama Coffee Cooperative! You can find our organic coffee beans in their bulk section or in their deli. You’ll want to shop here. Trust us.
Of course we had to make our way through the crowd to say hello to Pachamama supporters at Farm Fresh To You. Guests lined up to stop by and find out more about how they can get fresh, locally grown food delivered right to their door. If you’re already a Farm Fresh To You subscriber, you can customize your Farm Fresh To You box to include Pachamama Coffee in your monthly delivery.
Surprise! We gifted one of our favorite Instagrammers, Ali (@sacfoodie), a sample of our organic coffee beans! We also visited Ruhstaller Brewery, The Upper Crust Baking Co., Sactown Magazine, and a fellow cooperative, Blue Diamond Almonds, California’s largest almond cooperative – representing more than 3,000 California growers.
This event was a culmination of everything we stand for and believe in as a cooperative. At Pachamama Coffee, it is especially important to us that you, the consumers, know who you are buying your coffee, food, and beverages, from. When you buy directly from those who are producing the products, you are empowering the farmers, the ranchers, the cooperatives, etc. As farmers, nothing warms our heart more than to see our region come together in support of the work that we, and thousands of other farmers and cooperatives, do every day. Thank you to the Sacramento region for showing their support at the Farm-to-Fork Festival. We were happy to be a part of this special day and we look forward to next year’s Farm-to-Fork Festival.
