2017 CO-OP FESTIVAL: ON THE NATIONAL MALL

COOPFEST

The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA CLUSA) will hold the inaugural Co-op Festival, September 30 – October 1, 2017, on the grounds of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. — an unprecedented opportunity to amplify the economic impact, diversity and sustainability of a business model 70 percent of consumers say they already trust.

Designed to kick off Cooperative Month, October, this two-day public awareness event will feature live music, high-profile speakers, games, giveaways and interactive booths to engage thousands of people on the National Mall. The event will also serve as a visual reminder of the success and diversity of the co-op business model to elected officials in the nation’s capital.

“This festival celebrates the broad and diverse impact co-ops have on our daily lives,” said John Torres, event coordinator and vice president of Communication at NCBA CLUSA. “We want people to have fun, learn about co-ops in an interactive space and experience the many ways co-ops help shape their communities.”

By leveraging public recognition of well-known cooperatives, the Co-op Festival will connect the trust consumers say they have for the co-op business model with the brands they already shop, while introducing them to the full spectrum of co-ops building a better world in the U.S. and globally.
